Alzheimer’s Research Has Found a Protein That Protects Against The Disease
A protein that may protect against Alzheimer’s disease has been discovered by scientists. Experiments found the degenerative brain condition spreads more rapidly in the brains of mice genetically engineered to lack it. Known as LANDO (LC3-associated endocytosis), the protective protein was found to be less abundant by half in brains with dementia.
